Senator Byrd’s Touching Moment

My heart was truly touched today to hear the aging former Klansman, Byrd weeping and barely coherent over his drinking buddy’s medical condition.

I’m sure that Mr. Byrd did not shed a tear for Mary Jo Kopechne after our hero Ted drove her off a bridge in the early morning hours of July 18, 1969 and left her to drown in the dark waters of Poucha Pond.

After all, he was Ted Kennedy, a “somebody” and Mary Jo was just another expendable person to be used for whatever he wished. Mary Jo was left alone to claw the roof of the car in terror as the waters slowly filled her lungs, but Ted got the chance to live on to become such as distinguished and drunken elder statesman.
