Obama Keeps Hillary on the Defensive.

The Hillary Camp spent most of today again explaining her remarks about RFK. Somehow the Obama Camp found these words so offensive. It’s kind of fun to watch the leftists do it to themselves. I guess the “Society of the Continually Offended” is just falling back on old habits, but this time they are using these hysterical tactics against each other.

I do not tend to find people’s words offensive, but it is usually the mind-set behind them that troubles me. When Michelle Obama proclaimed that “For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country”, I found that statement offensive because while our county is far from perfect, we have so many things to be thankful for here.

To hear someone who can totally disregard these blessings offends me because at the root of it all is a self-centered expectation of entitlement. In the end, I can’t say that I would spend days or weeks of sleepless nights on account of them, but people’s words do tend to betray their motives.

In the case of Hillary, I really don’t think that she was saying or even thinking that she was waiting for Obama to be assassinated. It was simply as she said and for once she spoke a truth that we all know: That is this campaign it isn’t over until the fat lady sings. She isn’t out of this race mathematically and therefore, given the changing winds of politics, she is not out of this race at all. It could well occur that this fight goes to the convention floor.

For the Obama camp, they must have in the back of their minds the potential for risk that every candidate runs and in particular for any black man running for President (whether Colin Powell or Barack Obama) is taking. There are nut cases everywhere who are willing to die if needed in order to cement their place in history. If Hillary just happened to touch on that truth, then what exactly is so offensive? Was she calling for someone to come and take this guy out?, No.

In truth, do you really think Obama himself is all that offended? Hell no! But he will play the game for all it’s worth and this is what is truly offensive and that is the game itself. The game presupposes that the electorate is too stupid to see what is really going on. Maybe some really are, but most people see this is a charade and then pretend not to notice.
